“Crr, crr, crr…” Hey, what’s all the crunching about? Uh, oh! It can only mean one thing: Veganz Organic Hazelnut Brittle is at that good, old crunchy fun again. Delicately caramelised hazelnuts in a crunchy chocolate coating – a vegan candy bar that couldn’t taste any better! And sound more natural.
Can you hear it? The climate protection clock? It’s now 2 minutes to 12! Good thing we have a grip on the hands and can turn them back – together! Because with the Veganz Organic Hazelnut Brittle you have a delicious candy bar made with organic, vegan ingredients and wrapped in sustainable packaging. Another thing you’ll find on the product package: The eco-balance! As you can see from the image on top, it’s divided into four categories: CO2 emissions, water footprint, animal welfare and rainforest protection. These ratings show you right away just how sustainable the product is.
Why all the rigamarole? Transparency and environmental protection are very important to us: You get all the facts and we have the opportunity to make our products more sustainable.
Indeed, there are plenty of reasons to sing a euphoric song of jubilance with the Veganz Organic Hazelnut Brittle since it received best marks in the eco-balance categories of animal welfare, rainforest protection and CO2 emissions! How come? As a purely vegan product, our crunchy candy bar protects the animal world. No room for complaints with a carbon footprint of just 229 grams, far under the amount of other chocolates. Even the rainforest is happy since we don’t use any soy or palm oil. Whoo hoo!
And the cocoa bean goes: “Oh, yes!” Because those little beans feel pure wellness in that watery wall-of-sound. How can we blame them? The fantastic beans, among other ingredients, are what the crunchy coating of our Veganz Organic Hazelnut Brittle are made of. Fresh water use is unfortunately a little more problematic since the cocoa beans need quite a bit of the valuable liquid and the water supply in the cultivation areas is not developed enough.
A solution to the cocoa problem must be found – no question. But at the moment we don’t know what it is. Maybe one answer is to help out at the location by supplying water treatment plants or procuring our ingredients from other regions. You can be sure that we are making every effort to find a solution – the know-how of today flows into the products of tomorrow.
Raw cane sugar*, cocoa butter*, cocoa mass*, rice syrup powder* (14%), hazelnut brittle* (8%) (raw cane sugar*, chopped hazelnuts* (27%), glucose syrup*, caramelized sugar syrup*), hazelnut paste*, vanilla extract*. Cocoa solids 40% minimum.
May also contain traces of milk, gluten-containing grains and nuts.
Our high-quality organic cocoa comes from Latin America, or the Dominican Republic to be exact. Next to the organic certification, it also bears the UTZ seal. This means that the farmer and working conditions are monitored and child labour is forbidden on the plantations. Additionally, because of this seal, the rainforest is under special protection. In order to provide us with further security, our Veganz Code of Conduct also regulates social standards that are respected by our suppliers.
Mhm, these pleasure sounds don’t just happen without a reason with the Veganz Organic Hazelnut Brittle! A lot of gourmet tastes are coming together here: Crunchy hazelnut brittle, a crispy chocolate coating, both with a delicate touch of caramel. The distinctive “aha” effect? The candy bar tastes almost exactly like conventional milk chocolate. But we don’t need to use any cow’s milk! We’ve decided on the fantastic mixture of delicate cocoa butter and rice syrup powder instead.
Two additional pieces of important information: The Hazelnut Brittle ingredients are certified organic. Not only that, but we don’t use soy, palm oil or artificial additives.
We use these materials in this product.
Our Hazelnut Brittle is wrapped in a Natureflex foil that’s made from sustainable wood pulp. Not only that, but you can dispose of the inner foil in the compost and it will decompose within 50 days. If you don’t have a compost, just toss it into the residual waste bin!
Once the foil is on, it’s covered in paper that’s been FSC certified and printed with mineral oil-free ink. Sounds unconventional? Perhaps! But don’t worry, the packaging provides optimal protection so that the cocoa remains aromatic and the bar stays crunchy.
We’re pretty proud of it, but we also know that there’s a whole lot of room for improvement in the wide, wide world of packaging. And so, the search for environmentally friendly alternatives continues…
