Spicy soy skewers made with Veganz Soy Medallions, served on a fresh bed of salad and with a tasty dip of your choice. Soy Medallions – just the way you like them

The Veganz Soy Medallions are an extremely versatile food. They’re not just great on skewers, the tender pieces of soy work just as well as steaks, for example. Depending on your taste, you can make the marinade for your skewers spicier, extra spicy, or even sweetish, e.g., by adding some peanut butter. Once you have left the medallions to soak, just be sure to squeeze the water out of them vigorously so that they can absorb all of the seasoning. Another important point: always add sufficient oil to the marinade to prevent the skewers or steaks from ending up too dry.

The perfect sides for the soy skewers

Essentially, you can serve your soy skewers with any side. Rice or baked potatoes are great additions to the recipe. When you use the BBQ for your Soy Medallions, you might want to go for some traditional BBQ sides instead. How about a potato or pasta salad? Another delicious option is herby baguette with vegan butter!

  • Kebab skewers
Ingredients
  • 100 g Veganz Soy Medallions
  • 5 Tbsp of your preferred plant oil
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp mustard
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ Tbsp smoked paprika powder or alternatively liquid smoke
  • ½ Tbsp dried thyme
  • ½ Tbsp dried oregano and thyme

Here’s how it works.

  1. Prepare the Veganz Soy Medallions according to the instructions on the packet.

  2. Place all the other ingredients in a soup bowl and mix them until they form a smooth marinade.

  3. Next, place the Veganz Soy Medallions in the bowl and stir them with the marinade.

  4. Cover the bowl for at least 30 minutes and leave the Veganz Soy Medallions to absorb the flavours. You can even leave them over night – it will create an even more intense flavour!

  5. Next, put the Veganz Soy Medallions on the kebab skewers.

  6. Either fry them in a pan or pop them on the BBQ.

  7. Serve with salad and your dip of choice. Bon appetit!
